TEORIA E HISTORIA DA PINTURA

 

A unidade curricular Teoria e História da Pintura aborda determinados segmentos da história de arte ocidental, tais como a arte contemporânea, a arte moderna, a arte antiga e as relações com civilizações não ocidentais. Os estudantes serão incentivados a investigar tópicos pertinentes sobre estes segmentos da história de arte no âmbito da Pintura. A partir dos conteúdos apresentados nas aulas e das contribuições de convidados (artistas/curadores/teóricos) da unidade curricular, os estudantes irão delimitar o seu campo de pesquisa e desenvolver conteúdos (artigo/ensaio/capítulo) de acordo com os seus interesses. A articulação destas três fontes de informação irá providenciar aos estudantes o material necessário para uma contextualização dos desafios atuais da teoria e história da Pintura.

 

 

 

HISTORY AND PAINTING THEORY

 

The Theory and History of Painting course addresses certain segments of the Western art history, such as contemporary art, modern art, ancient art and its relations with non-Western civilisations. Students will be encouraged to investigate relevant topics on these segments of art history within the field of Painting. Students will define their research topic and develop content for it (article / essay / chapter) according to their interests, to the material presented in class and the contributions of guests (artists / curators / theorists). The articulation of these three sources of information will provide students with the necessary material to contextualize the current challenges of the theory and history of Painting.
